Badger cull update

Environment Secretary Owen Paterson has announced that the badger cull due to take place this year in England has been postponed until 2013 at the request of the National Farmers Union.

Following on from this announcement, MPs have voted against the pilot cull in Gloucostershire and Somerset. This vote however is not binding on the government, who may choose to proceed with the cull in 2013 anyway.
