E3 Ecology Ltd is a specialist rural based ecological consultancy providing survey and research for business, the public sector and NGOs in the north east of England. The team regularly works for developers providing nature conservation input into multi-disciplinary teams for the production of EIAs and planning applications. Most of our work is within a 2 hour drive time, so nights away are infrequent and we have exceptional local knowledge. The company is based in a new, purpose built office in stunning countryside, in an area where property and an excellent standard of living is very affordable. The friendly and welcoming team includes two directors, two associate directors, senior ecologists, ecologists, graduate ecologists and account/office manager. The office is just a few miles from the attractive market town of Hexham, with a wide range of facilities and good public transport links. Work includes desktop studies, field survey, reporting, ecological impact assessment, design of mitigation, management plan production, Habitat Regulations Assessment, and evidence at Public Inquiry. We work on a variety of sites from house extensions to large scale housing and commercial developments, quarries, road schemes, windfarms etc. We have a team of in-house specialist ecologists including botanists, ornithologists, fresh water ecologists, an invertebrate specialist and licensed surveyors for bats (including low impact, harp trapping, mist netting and use of acoustic lures), great crested newts, white-clawed crayfish, barn owl, bird ringing, fresh water pearl mussel, fresh water invertebrate and trained electro-fishing surveyor, arborist and licenced tree climbers for aerial bat surveys. | |
