Chartered Status

Members of CIEEM can apply for two different types of Chartered status - Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist.

Develop your skills and gain professional recognition from employers, colleagues and clients by achieving Chartered status.

CIEEM has recently produced two short films to provide guidance for members thinking of applying for either Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist status. The films take you through the application processes, including how to prepare your application and improve the quality of your application form or report. Please note - you can enable sub-titles by clicking on the 'CC' button on the right of the scroll bar.  The web hosts have noted a bug when watching the films through an Apple device operating IOS8, in that the sub-titles will not display.  However, they should be fully visible on other browsers, on a PC or on Android or IOS7 handsets/tablets.

Chartered Ecologist (CEcol)

Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) :  The Register of Chartered Ecologists recognises the effective application of knowledge and understanding of the science of ecology by professionals committed to the highest standards of practice.  The Register is open for applications from Fellows and Full members of CIEEM.

Take seven and a half minutes to watch the Chartered Ecologist film below, presented by the Chair of the Registration Authority, Mrs Penny Anderson: (if you cannot see the film, please click here)

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv): CIEEM is one of 25 Constituent bodies licensed by the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) to award Chartered Environmentalist status.  CEnv is an increasingly recognised standard of good environmental practice and the competence requirements are appropriate for many of our Full and Fellow members.
