Policy and Consultations

Back to Contents

CIEEM, through its policy work, strives to be a more powerful voice for our members in influencing nature conservation legislation, policy and practice in the UK (including the devolved administrations), Ireland and Europe.

The input of members is vital to ensuring that this is done appropriately and thoroughly, and Member Networks are well placed to help with this.  The Secretariat may not always be aware of every consultation that is happening, particularly outside England, so if your committee is aware of a consultation that you feel CIEEM should be making a response to, you are encouraged to coordinate a response from your Section or area of Special Interest via the appropriate Country Policy Working Group

You can find details of forthcoming consultations as well as past consultation responses and other policy related documents on the Policy pages of the CIEEM website.  Please check with the Policy and Communications Manager to determine whether a response to a particular consultation is already underway.

Other local issues

Any other matters of regional or national concern to your particular Member Network can be raised via your Country Vice President or the Advisory Forum.  All Geographic Sections are entitled to send a representative to the Advisory Forum and this will usually be the Convenor.  Any items that you wish to raise should be sent to and your Country Vice President in advance of the meeting.  To contact you Country Vice President, please send enquiries to the Member Networks Coordinator or Country Project Officer in the first instance.
