Standing Committees

The Chartered Institute has three Standing Committees that undertake strategic and operational tasks on behalf of the Governing Board. They meet four times a year and are made up of members serving in a voluntary capacity. See the lists of members on each committee.

Membership Admissions Committee (MAC)

MAC keeps under review CIEEM’s membership admission regulations including membership grades and fees. It assesses applications for membership in accordance with the regulations and oversees the operation of the licence to award Chartered Environmentalist accreditation to members.

Professional Standards Committee (PSC)

PSC provides guidance on good practice in professional practice and keeps members informed of new developments and professional opportunities in the practice of ecology and environmental management. It keeps the Chartered Institute’s Code of Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Regulations under review and assesses complaints against members in order to determine whether there is a case to answer.

Training, Education and Career Development Committee (TECDC)

TECDC promotes the acquisition of knowledge, technical and professional skills for members and those seeking to enter the profession. It oversees CIEEM’s professional development programme and members’ compliance with the continuing professional development (CPD) obligation of membership.
