Committee MemberJames Packer MCIEEM

James has been an ecology consultant for over 25 years, and is currently working as an Associate Director for ADAS.  James’ professional specialism is as a protected species ecologist.

He is also a passionate ornithologist and photographer, and is motivated by the challenges of difficult species identification. James is the Chairman of the Somerset Ornithological Society’s Rarities Committee.  Over the last few years James has tried to broaden his interest with other species groups, mainly into lepidoptera and odonata.

Committee MemberLindsay Taylor Grad CIEEM

I have been working in the environmental consultancy sector for 3 years and am currently a Graduate Ecologist at Tyler Grange. I’ve come to this career after nine years as a Biomedical Scientist during which time I realised there is more to life than a stuffy laboratory! I am now thoroughly enjoying working in the great outdoors, undertaking protected species surveys and habitat assessments. Outside of work, I volunteer with the Greater Bristol Otter Group and both the Wiltshire Dormouse Group and Somerset Dormouse Network and dabble with the Avon Bat Group.

Whilst I hope that joining the CIEEM South West committee will help to broaden my knowledge and networking skills, I also hope to give a “graduate’s eye view” on some of the issues and subjects raised.

Having been co-opted onto the South West committee in January 2017, I have helped to organise several events and am looking forward to organising more!
